If you like Piña Coladas…

Then you’ll love this smoothie.

One of my favorite things in life is making something that tastes naughty and decadent but is actually really healthy.

However there are some things that should always, always be made full fat. Don’t bring your low-fat cream cheese anywhere near my cheesecake. You have been warned.

But when the opportunity arises to make something that’s good for you also taste good, I’m in.

I’m a huge fan of Trader Joes frozen fruit as making drinks with it allows you to feel like you are enjoying a tropical cocktail on the beach, anytime of the year, from your own home, without having to peel or chop a thing. Perfect for hot sunny days, or days when you need to add a little sunshine to your life.

I have a bag of frozen pineapple and mango in the freezer plus some leftover coconut milk in the fridge (because they only seem to sell the stuff in enormous quantities). So I threw in some non-fat Greek yoghurt and pineapple juice, blitzed in the blender and et voilà! I’m enjoying a tropical breakfast in a glass.

It has officially been coined The Pineapple Creamsicle. And I bet it would be even better if you threw in some rum 🙂


The Pineapple Creamsicle

– 1 cup frozen pineapple chunks
– 1 cup frozen mango chunks
– 1 cup non fat Greek yoghurt
– 1 cup non fat coconut milk
– 1 cup of juice of your choice (orange of pineapple probably best)
– squeeze of agave if you want it sweeter

Throw everything in a blender.
Blitz until smooth.
Close your eyes and imagine you are lying on a tropical beach listening to gentle waves lap at the shore.
